Peter Prince is a singer, songwriter, musician and filmmaker based on Salt Spring Island, BC. His interests are diverse, but grow out of his appreciation for the people and the unique landscapes of Canada’s west coast. The breadth of his work is truly remarkable as he has composed soundtracks for Film and TV, produced and directed documentary films, and continues to discover new means of using media to communicate. Peter is a down-to-earth storyteller whose works explore themes of humanity, community, family, spirituality, indigenous cultures, nature, honesty, love, death and hope. He writes songs when moved by profound experiences and deep feelings. In turn, his music often affects an emotional response in listeners. Fans tell Peter that they find his music healing, relaxing, and that it at times moves them to tears. Stay tuned for his new record, ISLAND WAY, coming soon in 2014.

Peter’s music is a fusion of contemporary Folk and World Music that creates a distinctive blend of acoustic roots and global grooves. With his rich resonant voice, Peter delivers artfully wrought lyrics in a masterful style that stays true to his folk origins. An artist renowned for the compelling stories in his songs, the music of Peter Prince takes the listener on a journey. Even more memorable are those occasions when Peter performs with his talented backing band; the passionate delivery of their live shows brings an entirely new dimension to his music.

A graduate of Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Technology in Motion Picture Arts, Peter has worked as a producer, director, cinematographer and editor for three decades. His projects have been broadcast nationally and internationally in over 60 countries.
